Import/Export IO from automation builder 2.2 to excel
Hi
Automation Builder 2.2.4.631
Can anyone tell me how to export/import IO-mapping to and from a automation builder project with AC500?
I want to edit my IO-mapping in excel and then import it to my project. If i use copy/paste i have to copy every IO ont at a time.

Hi,
I too use copy and paste. However, to over come difficulty in copying and pasting one variable at a time, you can do the following when using basic or standard versions of AB.
*Copy the tag names typed in excel from eight consecutive cells in the excel sheet
*Navigate to IO mapping list by double clicking on the desired module in the hardware configuration tree
*Use Shift Key and mouse cursor to select all the rows you wish to fill under the variable column (8 rows)
*Paste the tag names typed in excel from the eight consecutive cells into the selected rows under the variable column
In a similar manner, the entire variable column may be filled at one shot for each IO module. Ensure to keep in mind the empty cell after every 8 Variable cells while pasting >8 variables at once.
AFAIK, font type difference will not affect copying from excel to AB. If found to affect, then identify the font type by pasting one variable from AB into excel. Use the identified format for all the tag names in excel before pasting in AB.
