Hi, I am looking at using a BRC410 with Harmony Gateway Software for a Modbus TCP interface and I would also like to install several UDFs into the same controller. However, there is no mention in the HGS documentation as to whether or not HGS is compatible with UDF, or if HGS can accommodate other applications such as UDF or Batch allocating their own files, RAM and NVRAM. Other software products that need to initialize the controller (GPI for example) have the ability to accommodate other application's requirements when the module is initialized by reserving a nominal amount of files, RAM and NVRAM for other uses.
Can anyone confirm either way with regards to HGS and UDF being compatible and if so, how it is achieved?
Ref: ABB20160112KB0002 The short answer is that Harmony Gateway Software (HGS) cannot be used in the same controller along with other programs.
HGS automatically allocates memory and loads the program files into the controller. This is not compatible with other programs such as Batch and custom "C" programs which require there own formatting of controller memory.
Additional controllers would be required to host the other programs.
