Extending the volume of C Drive in Virtual Client.
I want to extend the volume of C Drive in Virtual Client. As per the Virtual Machine settings, Hard Disk 1 is allocated 150 GB but shows only in 80 GB in Windows Explorer. I can see the remaining 70 GB is unallocated in Disk 0 under Disk Management but Extend Volume is not getting enabled for the allocated volume o
f C Drive.

You can use Disk Management to add space to an existing volume, extending it into empty space on the drive, but only if the empty space doesn't have a volume on it (it's unallocated) and comes immediately after the volume you want to extend, with no other volumes in-between.

Hi,
I don't think you can extend the c: partition to include the newly created unallocated space because the recovery partition is in between the two. If the recovery partition is relocated to the end of the disk, the unallocated space will be adjacent to the c: partition and then the c: partition can then be extended to include the unallocated space. I haven't tried this in in while but I don't think the Microsoft disk administration utilities will do this for you. However there are third party partition managers that will do the job.
Cheers,
Alan
