Do i need to use CI840A interface in redundant S800 I/O which hasTU840A and redundant AC800M PM867(CI853) Plz help
Answer this question Follow
You will not need CI840A unless you have Profibus communication with CI854, which isn't a SIL-rated communcation protocol. Thus, your system as shown with TB840A via optical Modulebus communication is correct. I cannot speak to the use of the CI853's.
You have to use TB840/TB840A for TU840 with single power-Red IO/TU841 with single power-Non-red IO OR TU848-with dual power red IO/TU849-with single power non-red IO. Module Bus supports SOE while CI-CI840A(Profibus Dp-V1) not supports for the same. Your dwg is right but you decide the TU based on the power red and IO availability/Hot swap.
