Stall Function and Maximum Current Limit
Dear Sir,
I have ACS880-04-880A-3 drive.
Motor Rating 415V, 730A, 986rpm.
What I should set following parameters for safe operation for both motor & drive.
1. Par 30.15- Maximum start current enable=?
2. Par 30.16- Maximum start current=?
3. Par 30.17- Maximum current limit=?
Please explain basis of setting these parameters.
What is basis of setting Par 31.25-Stall current limit? By default it is 200% but does it depend on motor data?
Please explain.
Regards,
SS

Hi
in my experience, the settings of a parameters of a drive depends on also of the application: a pump is different than a pulper, then you must specify the use of this motor and if the control is DTC or V/F.
Do you need one slow acceleration or fast?
Basically I maintain the parameter 30.15 at Disable. This allow to the drive to control the current necessary to start the motor, but how I said before, this is not a rule, the application coming before in the analysis.
Generally I leave the parameters 30.16 3 and 30.17 as they leave the factory: these too are conditioned by the application.
So to be able to give you an opinion, I think you will need to provide some more information.
