800xA Alarm list : How to get rid off old alarm
Hello,
I always have a problem when I need to reboot 800xA for MOD300 Connectivity Server.
for maintenance . All the alarm list get "full" of old alarm of any type (ccf, diag etc,,)
with old timestamps . Is there a simple way to deal with this issue that makes me regret
Advant Hp-UX workstation and their stunning Unix UserAPI interface any time it happens,
I mean instead of the scary OPC interface we must bear nowadays ?
Will 800xA in the future have a rational way to manage alarm lists functionalities
at least as it was 20 years ago..
I think operators need to spend their time controlling the process and not trying to understand
what to do with Alarm lists.. ;)
I will really appreciate any suggestion and your opinion, positive or negative.
Thanks a lot
PB

A failover between two redundant Event Collector service providers should not drive old alarms into the list.
Have you changed the "Supports Refresh" setting in the Alarm Collection Definition?
I believe it should be "off" for MOD300.
You should file a support case with your regional ABB support center. They can, if needed escalate to the MOD300 CoE for advise, which in turn can escalate to 800xA Base CoE.
