MasterPiece 90 replace
One of our customers has a very old installation where he uses a PM630 (MasterPiece 90 ?). Is there a way to connect and get the from the PLC the application? We'll have to replace the old PLC and to use a 800xA 5.1 AC800M controller, so we need the source code of the application that is running in the PM630.

MP90 is the predecessor of AC110 and AC160, it's using the PM630 CPU which is obsolete.
(Most I/O modules are still available and in classic life cycle phase as they are used also for AC110 and AC160.)
If upgraded to AC 160 it can still be programmed and maintained, but using the actively sold Control Builder A and FCB.
And as a short term solution, if you have the application source code you can easily upgrade this controller to an AC160 using the PM640 CPU.
An upgrade kit is available.
Anyhow you cannot extract an application from MP90 and nor from AC110 or AC160.
You need to have the application backup and preferably the AMPL source code stored at a safe location , as the engineering tool must have the master application.
ABB can also auto convert MP90 applications to AC800M applications, an optional AMPL library will be attached to the conversion.
