Is it possible to establish communication between 800xA?
I have an issue with my factory.
Currently, I have 800xA with AC460 PLC and also have 800xA with ac800m PLC on another plant. My boss want to pull some data from 800xA with AC460 to another DCS system. Is it possible to pull some data from 800xA with AC460 PLC to 800xA with AC800M PLC? If possible, please explain how to established the communication between both of them.
Thanks for your kind attention

AC460 - so MOD300 Controllers, not Advant AC450. Hence, you cannot use MB300.
- For secure and robust peer-to-peer, a serial PLC link, eg using Modbus works.
- 800xA is OPC based, so OPC communications works for all HMI displays to AC800M, AC450 Advant and AC460 MOD300
- You can data exchange using OPC "Property Transfer" aspects for small amounts of data
- You can use "OPC Data Link" for large amounts of OPC Data between 800xA and any other OPC Based system
Note, that third party OPC Clients can overload the AC460 DCN Ring fairly quickly. Using a third party product is not recommended unless you fully understand the effect of subscription rates on DCN ring and Controller loading. I have seen OPC clients completely crash a MOD300 system due to poor configuration.
Your choice of what to do depends on your requirements. What data do you want to transfer, how often, how much and what for ?
