Continuing problem migrating ACS550 to ACH580.
Hello,
First, please understand I'm just a maintenance guy in a factory. We had an ACS550 fail and we replaced it with an ACH580, mainly because it was the only thing that was in stock at the time. The thought was that it should be able to do the job. Because the parameters on the failed unit do not correctly correspond to the parameters on the new unit we are struggling to get it to work.
The first problem we had was the ACS550 used an RPBA and the ACH580 used an FPBA. We couldn't get the module light to stop flashing on the FPBA. Fortunately, Flavio Mussolin helped me with that by telling me to set the RPBA emulation to on. After refreshing with 51.27, the module light stopped flashing.
Now the drive will start using the HMI, but the frequency doesn't seem to be set from the Profibus. When the drive is off, the Reference frequency is set 20Hz. When the drive is put in Auto, the Reference frequency changes to 20.8Hz and it runs at that speed when turned on over the Profibus.
Here are the settings I am using from the default parameters:
19.01 Actual Operation Mode: Scalar (Hz)
19.11 Ext1//Ext2 selection: EXT1
20.01 Ext 1 Commands: Fieldbus A
20.41 Start interlock 1: 1
22.11 Ext1 speed ref1: FB A ref1
22.12 Ext1 speed ref2: Zero
22.13 Ext1 speed function: Ref1
50.01 FBA A: Enable
50.02 FBA A comm loss func: Fault
50.03 FBA A comm loss t out: 0.3s
50.04 FBA A ref1 type: Frequency
50.05 FBA A ref2 type: Frequency
50.06 FBA A SW sel: Auto
50.07 FBA A actual 1 type: Frequency
50.08 FBA A actual 2 type: Frequency
51.01 FBA A type: PROFIBUS-DP
51.02 Node address: 73
51.03 Baud rate: 3000
51.04 MSG type: PPO5
51.05 Profile: ABB Drives
51.06 T16 Scale:
51.07 Emulation mode: RPBA-01
51.08 Map selection: 32 bit
51.09 Module info: OK
52.01 SW 16 bit
52.02 Act1 16 bit
53.01 CW 16 bit
53.02 Ref1 16 bit
Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Hi Ed
the only help I can give you is to ask yourself if you can post the parameter file that you are currently using on ACH580 and possibly if you have the original one, which was on ACS550.
A brief description of the system architecture and how the drive is managed will be very useful for understanding the rest.
This is because it is easier for me to give you a complete answer once I have viewed the complete documentation from here. In small pieces, we run the risk that by dint of writing partial answers, it may take time, which I think you have not ...and me too

Hello! I am no expert on the 550 or 580 drive but it seems to differ in the reference chain on the ACH580. If scalar mode then the reference chain is in group 28 if 19.01=Scalar instead of group 22 when 19.01=Speed. See manual in source.

Not sure if this is useful but the ACH shows main CW as 47E (hex) and the SW 1231 (hex) when not running.
The ACS shows FB CW1 0081 CW2 2000 and SW1 0013 and SW2 0C00 when not running.

Hello, I don't think I properly came back to let everyone who answered know what resolved my issue. It seems I had two problems, one was an intermittent Profibus connection upstream of the inverter and the other was resolved by adjusting the Frequency scaling from 50Hz to 60Hz.
Thanks again to all who took time to help!
