Thank you for replying, If I have 3 Engineering clients with 3 CB instances, can I download the firmware to 3 controllers parallelly? and then do the CI/Cex modules after
If you are upgrading very old CEX modules ensure that the firmware actually *CAN* be upgraded. Read the release notes! (Even so, I have seen cases where the release notes are wrong and the CEX module was permanently destroyed) **Ensure you have spares**. If an upgrade to a CEX module fails and you cannot identify why, then stop and make a plan of what to do next. If possible, I suggest you TEST upgrading your versions of CEX firmware before committing to a plant shutdown.
It should be ok, It's already on 5.1FP4 Rev E , we are upgrade to SV6.0 so CEX module is good to go, my question is regarding multiple firmware upgrade through multiple CB at the same time
If I have 3 Engineering clients with 3 CB instances, can I download the firmware to 3 controllers parallelly? other than the CF/SD card option ?
Your question has already been answered by Rob... :-(
1. Serial firmware upgrade require a serial cable and one instance of Control Builder M
2. Ethernet firmware upgrade require Ethernet and one instance of Control Builder M
3. CF/SD firmware upgrade require one CF/SD card (per controller type). Multiple CF/SD medias can be prepared from a single instance of Control Builder M well ahead of the actual upgrade.
