Map section to priority for AC450 alarms
Hello!
We have 800xA 5.1 with both AC800 and AC450 controllers. For the AC4500 objects we use the section property for different priorities. For example, section 1 means priority 2, section 2 means priority 2 and section 3 means priority 3. We don't use any custom events for different priorities.
With this solution all alarms is interpreted as priority 2 in 800xA, and in an alarm list it it not possible to determine the priority of the alarm.
Now I wonder, is it possible to map sections to priority?
I now we can solve this issue by using custom events for the different priorities, but it would be a huge amount of work to do that.
If it's not possible to map sections to priorities, is there any other way to give the alarms in an alarm list different colors depending on the section, for example, alarms for section 1 should be red, alarms for section 2 should be yellow, alarms for section3 should be blue?
I have tried to find anything in the configuration manuals for 800xA and Advant Master, but without success.
I hop I can get some help here.
Regards, Andreas

The Alarm Priority Level (governing color, sound, etc.) strictly follows the Alarm Priority Mapping where the OPC AE Severity (1-1000) is split up in groups, "levels".
With 800xA for Advant Master the OPC AE Severity is defined by settings made in a .csv file on disk of the connectivity servers and the AL_PRIO setting in the Event Treat database stored in Logical File 25 and used on the RTA board/PU410.
Each OPC AE service group may have a dedicated Alarm Priority Mapping.
Please refer to the attached PDF file.
Ergo: you must use severity.
