ModuleBus Connection to Controller & Remote IOs
I have few queries (for many of you these looks silly) for which I am not able to find satisfactory information.
1. TB820 module when kept in same panel with controller it can be connected directly using FO port. My question is standard FO patch cords can be used or specific patch cords are available.
2. Those patch cords SM or MM type ?
3. If I have multiple locations (far from main controller) but single controller how to interconnect the module bus.
4. If I have redundant controller configuration how to connect module bus.
If some can help me to understand this then it would be of great help. If any readily made configuration is available then please share on firstname.lastname@example.org

ABB POF plastic cable with connectors e.g. TK811V015 POF Cable, 1.5m, Duplex
use media converter from POF to glass FO up to 1000m : TB825 Optical Media Converter Multi Mode
instead of TB820 use 2pcs TB840A Modulebus Clusters which are mounted into TU841 Termination unit for 1+1 TB840 .
Each TB840A has one POF connector , so connect fiber from each redundant CPU to the particular TB840A . Use pair of media converters TB825 in order to extend duplex FO connection between CPU and TB840A.
I mean 2 parallel chains like CPU->POF->glass->POF->TB840A .
TB825 has connectors for incoming and outgoing glass duplex, so here is the way how to connect next remote panels. TB825 third connector is for POF.
But remember there is limitation max 7 clusters in Module bus.
Also count with additional CPU load about +10% due to Module bus.
I hope it helps.
