800xA 6.1 Windows 10 Video Scaling Issues
Hi, We have just replaced a number of operator LCDs with new 4K LCDs which still support the original resolution the 800xA graphics were designed for.
The problem that we have is that when an operator logs into windows 10, Windows 10 automatically zooms to 150% (video scaling) which makes the loaded workplace unusable. We don't allow operators access to the desktop or any windows applications. In fact operators the don't have access to anything except the loaded workplace and a result they cannot change the scaling back to 100%.
The only way I have been able to fix this is to allow the operators temporary access to Windows, enabling them to change the scaling settings (zoom level back to 100%), once they have done this it is saved under their profile. I then disable access and when they log in again everything works. This is not a real solution as we have over 50 operators
After doing extensive research Windows 10 does not apply video scale settings system wide, instead its applied on a user basis. this means that if the scaling is set to 100% under an admin account this will not replicate across to operator accounts.
Is there anyway to get around this?
Regards
Luis.

Yes, it's per user. No, it's not guaranteed to work. The reason its not officially supported by Microsoft is likely the problems with different video cards doing weird things in the registry

Sorry to hear about your trouble.
This is no real answer, but the System 800xA Workplace require zoom level to be set to 100%.
Maybe you can push this via a GPO or Preference?

Hello,
We are running this user GPO and it works fine together with NVidia graphic cards and internal Intel graphic cards.
Windows 10 version is "Windows 10 Enterprise 2016 LTSB build 14393".

Put this GPO on IndustrialITUser organization unit in your domain environment and this should help you a lot.
