Voltage Regulator DSSR170 Redundancy
Hi,
I have 3 S100 I/O's Subrack ,each Subrack Contains 3 Voltage Regulators DSSR170.
Can the S100 Subrack operate Properly in case of Failure of 2 out of 3 Voltage Regulators?
Thanks s lot

Hello.
The limitation is the 5 Volt current load.
If your total number of I/O boards consumes more current that the single DSSR 170 voltage regulator can produce the regulator will shutdown.
This is dependent of your I/O board configuration.
The DSSR 170 is rated 10 A but if it's old it may be affected by aged capacitors and not fulfil the 10 A spec.
Make sure that you are on the safe side.
S100 I/O boards 5 Volt current consumption is different depending of board types, see the S100 I/O users guide for details.
Three regulators with a failure on one will cover even the highest possible S100 I/O load.
