Basic History and 800xA History
After an Acronis restore from 2017 image I restored latest available system backup. What I found that all the data in basic history is gone, all zeros. I had a copy of history folder made before full Acronis restore and followed 3BSE036342-510 C page # 129 (Step#1 to 5) to recover history but all in vain, I see zeros again. I also tried step # 6 but of no use. Is there any way out of this situation?
Also we had an old problem at our 800xA history server, When I use advdsopcclient tool on my AS/CS I can connect to RTDB at my history server but when I try to connect to RTDB on local machine it fails. Any suggestions.
Thanks and Regards,

Basic History uses Object GUID to map the history files on \OperateITData\... The object GUID is actually part of the file name. The second GUID in the file name I believe is the GUID of the Log Configuration aspect (or maybe it is the LogID, a third, not usually visible GUID - can't tell from where I am at now).
If your Control Structure objects have been recreated (e.g. a new upload, etc.) the objects will get new GUIDs and the link to the history files become broken.
You can also check the "Creation Time" of the objects, obviously they must be older than the creation time of the hard disk files.
The History Source aspect points to the Basic History service group that shall be performing the logging; by changing it to another group, the new group will start from scratch (in this case, a copy of the files from the original location to the new should work - just have source & destination historian service providers stopped while copying).
The AdvHtArchive.exe tool (used in online upgrade) can "inject" data from old files into new, but require the destination files to have the same GUID reference as the source.
But first, check the date & time when the objects were created. If too recent, maybe you have a full system backup with the old objects (matching the log files)?
