operator workstation virtualization choices
Hi
We Have 800xA system V 5.0.1 Work Group
one off our W.P need to be replaces with new W.P due to damage Motherboard
i wanna try using VMWARE for test and see results
as far as i know there isnt any official version for 5.0.1
so i need some answers
can i use VMWARE Workstation if yes which version?
or should i use Esxi 5.1 or 5.5
i try to p2v on another w.p with vmware workstation convertor but when i run it on wmware due to my OEM license key windows xp activation needed i did some digging and find out its a bit locked to Bios and dont Go a way also try other way but i cant bypass this step neither.
so im all i'm all ears
thanks in advance

800xA 5.0 does not support Virtualisation Officially. You will need to find out which way to go on your own or upgrade to a later version (ie 800xA 5.1 to 6.1 support virtualisation)
Totally unofficial, and no support from ABB. But there's no reason that it should not work .....
VMware workstation 14 no longer works on a Windows 10 host, so You'll need to use VMware Workstation Pro 15 or VMware Player 15. Im guessing you don't really want to spend $300 on Workstation Pro, but its a pretty good product. However, if you cannot Convert your XP machine because it BIOS locked then this isn't going to help.
The other option could be to run Windows XP in Hyper-V. Note that you CANNOT install Hyper-V and VMware on the same PC. Don't even try !
Get Windows XP from Microsoft Here ... https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/downl...

Hi,
In case you HDD is alive, I would suggest HW solution - try to find some older model of PC which is able to run Win XP. Connect your HDD to it and adjust the drivers.
