Ref615 connection with Sicam pas siemens automation
dear all
it is the first time using PCM600 software ,I have 50 device ref615 and Reu 615 ,communicated with Siemen software Sicam pas ,PRP topology .
abb engineer went to us the scd file ,I have used IeC configurator by siemens ,delete the 5 client and add the two client from siemens software ,then I exported the cid files for all ied them import them to SCl into PCM 600 ,all of this happen without writ any cid files to the devices .
i have delete the 5 client from PCm6000 software ,and import the cid files ,,,what I have done is correct or no ??
also if the devices connected to the network it transfer the new cid files once import it or shall I write the cid files ??
thanks to guide me

Hi Sayed,
I understand that you are trying to communicate ABB IEDs with Siemens system. By default, the ABB IEDs have 5 number of report clients in them for Vertical communication (using IEC61850 OPC Server). Now that you have used the Siemens configurator Tool to modify these clients, the same change needs to be reflected in the devices. For this purpose, you need to use the icd/cid/scd from Siemens configurator Tool to update the project in PCM600 Tool. Confirm in the PCM600 that the default clients are updated with the modified one. Once this is done, you can do the write operation to update the relays with new clients. This should establish the communication with your Siemens system.

Hi Sayed, basically what I understand is youare asking that if a relay is already communicating & you have deleted the default clients from it, then after that it will communicate or not.
The Answer is NO.
Since you have deleted the default clients & created the same in IEC configurator, then you have to either generate the individual CID or combined SCD file (In case there is 1 single PCM600 project) & import the same on REF615 relay in PCM. After this it is compulsory to write the same configuration on the relay, otherwise your relay configuration & IEC configurator configuration will not match & you will have lost communication or communication break.
This is the similar process which we follow to communicate siemens relays with ABB SCADA
