How Do I connect to an ACS800 Drive?
I am on a site where I am required to move parameters from one ACS800-07 (+V992) drive to another identical one, with just modification to the Profibus address. Otherwise the VFDs will be identical.
I have Drive Composer Pro on my laptop, but it seems that it does not support ACS800 although it clearly shows DDCS option on the startup screen of the software. I have connected my RUSB-02 and tried connecting to the drive to no avail.
Can anyone walk me through the process of connecting to the ACS800, upload the parameters and download them on another drive? Do I need to get DriveWinow to be able to connect?
I already have the RUSB-02 adapter but it does not show as a COM port on my device manager or anything. Is it supposed to? What should I expect when I connect it to my PC? And how do I proceed?
Thanks,
Mohammad

Hi
you need preferable to use Drive Window tool or Drive Window Lite with NPCU-01 converter, from RS232 to RS485 (the drive communication port used for the control panel CDP312).
But, if you don't have PC tools to connect with the drive, you can use the Control Panel to made a copy of the program of the first drive ando paste to the second.
Follow the instruction inside the FW manual of ACS800 to do it.
Hope this help you
