ABB 800xA History log file size simultaneously increase.
Hello everyone!
I am currently working on an 800xA v5.1. We use this system during 3 years. Yesterday we faced a problem. On our redundant connectivity server simultaneously increase size of historical log files folder(C:\OperateITData1\History), and after our C discs was full we faced data representation issue on DCS. It happened 3 times, and increase folder size from 90Gb to 152Gb. First time until fulling disc C, and 2 times after increasing free space on Disc C.
Start problem from loosing trends from DCS on one of connectivity server. We make disable/enable Basic History service. But after that we loose data representation. During solve this problem we reboot connectivity server several times.
So question is, what is the main reason of 3 times log files size increasing. How to squire our system from future problem like this?
Thank you for any help.

I believe your best option at this point is to move the Basic History Logs to another drive, other than C:\. If you search the AKS data base for "Move Basic History to other disk", and examine the response and the Comments in that response, you should find the necessary information to achieving the change necessary.

hi,
go to your library structure, browse down to History Log Templates and open each template. in the right hand side of plant explorer click on the Log Template.
under references their is a "Get List" button. this will show you how which objects loops are creating/using log files. Someone may have made a change to the Inheritance of objects in the object structure and you have acquired a whole new set of logs.
Then also look at the template definition and make sure they are set correctly - the longer they are set to keep data the bigger the files.
i typically keep 1 second for 1 week, then 10 second for 3 weeks and 20 seconds for 4 weeks. 790 logs = 17Gb in my case.
