ac500 PM573-ETH display is off
Dear Rahil,
The program is running inside the plc but the display is off. Is this because of firmware missing as its showing NA. We initially updated the firmware of the plc from automation builder v1.2.
We had another unit which was bought along with this one which is matching with the version of bootcode and cpu firmware with this display affected plc , the display shows version 2.9 in the working unit. Hence i think i need v2.9 to be downloaded to this cpu also.
Can you provide me the firmware , and its procedure .
Also i am getting a error as SRAM has been formatted .Is it a serious error.

Hi,
Please go through my answer for a similar question in the below link.

Unsure what is the purpose of static RAM in the AC500 PLC as I currently do not have access to any data sheet. Try to search in AB help file for info on SRAM and any related errors.

it is mentioned v2.5.3 for cpu firmware and v2.3.0 for bootcode and v2.9 for display .How to do this firmware update. Will it affect my io modules or cpu if updated .Or should i use the plc browser command sddisplay2_9 and just insert the memory card

Hi,
In the Sdcard.ini file select only display firmware as the only firmware to be updated. This will in theory prevent CPU firmware from being modified and hence prevent stopping running application.
However ,it is ALWAYS a wise decision to ensure process is stopped or in a safe state, while taking up firmware upgrade work.

So i have to extract the files to the sd card( incl revised settings in sdcard.ini),insert into plc, then go to plc browser and enter sddisplay2_9 ??

Hi. I havent tried plcbrowser command. In the .ini file set display_fw=1.
Power off plc.Insert prepared SD card with modified ini file and then Turn ON PLC. The display firmware will be copied and then replaced/installed. Post upgrade eject SD card and format.
With this method, power recycle of PLC is necessary. The pdf describes firmware update procedure via sd card in good detail.
