I use to pause virtual machine with running Softcontroller, Control builder, 800xA HMI during trainings or FAT. After resuming VM from paused state you get back the "snapshot" of your softcontroller.
If you have installation on physical PC, you can virtualize it.
Don't forget to do safe copy of your VM in Off state before pausing it. I know VM pause is safe but it happened me twice that VM video froze after several pause-resume cycles. Suspect is video driver.
SSD drive is highly recommended for host PC otherwise classic HDD is always busy for 10 minutes after pausing 800xA VM.

No, you cant 'snapshot" the controller.
You can set the Initial values you require for all the variables and then INIT Start the application. This will return it to a known state.

Hi,
Take a look at the ABB Simulator, they have some features to pause, save, load and even fastforward a softcontroller state:

Thank you
