"No image" warning after adding CF card
After a 800M HI controller crash we were advised to put in compact flash (CF) cards in our controllers to obtain "Dump of Post Mortem Memory Image" for increased ability to find root-cause of future problems.
We added a CF card to an AC800M PM866, and have a warning shown below showing "No image". I assume, but am not sure, that this warning is due to the fact that the card is empty and that there is no dumped memory image (dump.bin file)?

Thanks,
Tor

- Anyone knows if this is correct? If so, how can I avoid the warning - there should be no warning due to missing dump file when there has been no controller crash?
- I do not wish to obtain cold retain values to the card so I set the "Save cold retain values" to "0". Is this how it is normally done?
- According to documentation one can also insert the card without defining it in the hardware tree, and the dump should work just as well. Is this the recommended way to do it when the card should only be used for memory dump?

Thanks,

Hi Tor
No Image, I assume you dont have Configuration image on your CF card.
Check for system simple event No configuration image found at compact flash card. The system event is issued when a compact flash card, without a configuration image, is detected during startup of controller.
Before you can download your application to the backup media, you must connect an external Compact Flash Writer or Secure Digital Writer to your Control Builder PC. The writer is normally connected to the PCs USB port. From the Project Explorer, make sure your project is in offline mode: 1. Insert a Compact Flash card or a Secure Digital card in the Writer slot. 2. Right-click controller and select Download to Removable Media from the context-menu. A Backup Media dialog window will open. 3. Select Writer and click OK. The Control Builder will write the application to the backup media

Hi,
In addition to the first answer - your CF card have to be formatted with FAT16 before to download from Control Builder.
In case of redundant CPU, you have to insert identical CF cards with absolutely the same images in both CPU's.
Unfortunately I don't have a knowledge how the dump is working (your second part of the question) but still think CF have to be formatted first.
