ModBus TCP Protocol
if we have an AC800M ( PM866 or PM 864 ) , CI867 for Modbus TCP protocol and just control builder M , we need to communicate to external two Scada Pack from Schneider , both has different station numbers , the CI867 should be master of the communication asked data to two Scada Pack and to Siemens PLC , Siemens PLC would have another station number and it is able to communcate also using MODBUSTCP protocol .
Regarding to them , AC800M -CI867 would be master of communication from this side.
Regarding to Intouch external system , it would be as Scada system but at this side it would be master and CI867 would be slave.
The question , we have just one CI867 , Could we achieve that CI867 work as slave and master at the same time of course first we would need to get data from slaves ( scada pack and siemens plc ) and then send the data to Intouch external system( master ) when it pull the data
Is it posible through the proper configuration just we have only one CI867.
If we would have compact builder 800 , Is it posible to get data through ModBus TCP protocol as we have mentioned above ? or it should be done using opc functinality which it would be another to get the solution ?
ThanKS for your support
When You configure CI867 port as Master you have to read and write data by using Modbus TCPIP Library. and when you configure it as salve by using Access Variable you can exchange data.
it is also recommended to use OPC Communication if your Controller is Slave and front end SCADA act as Master.
