We have the Softcontroller installed on a VM and the user running the programme gets logged out a while after the RDP session is disconnected (this is a nasty problem that our IT hasn't been able to solve. Domain, policies, bla bla...) and then our soft PLC's are terminated. Is there a way to run the Softcontroller as a service? Has this perhaps changed with version 6.1?
This is just an idea, sorry I don't have time to test it now. There is wrapper SRVANY.exe available in Windows NT resource Kit, which allows to run any user exe as windows service. Instsrv.exe is used to install Srvany as service. User exe shall be linked to Srvany in windows registry by Regedit, see link below. Try to link SoftControlPanel.exe or slcmain.exe in C:\Program Files (x86)\ABB Industrial IT\Control IT\SoftController directory. Since Srvany starts up user exe in the background without graphic front, I have no idea how to force particular Softcontroller to start by default without clicking to Softcontroller front. If you have time to test it, please update me whether it works.
