Internal error: Write access to protected memory
Good day;
I have a AC800F Controller, in redundant configuration, that is not working well; the main controller is good, working very well, but the redundant one doesn't; it shows an error code:80000302 E_OS_WRITE_PROTECTION in the event history that is a CPU fault that mean "Internal error: Write access to protected memory", when the a whole station is done after the firmware upgrade. I think that the best action is change the controller, but I need to explain to the customer why it happen.
The system version is Freelance 2013 RU4; It was update from Freelance 2013 before the error showed up.
If somebody have a comments or answer about why the error happen, it will be useful and I'be thankful.
Thanks in advance

Hi,
Have you tried to restart the redundant controller to see whether the issue is repeatable? I would guess it is.
I don't think exchanging the controller will help. You should report the issue to ABB support, which might ask to get the project file.
Someone with more experience than me should look at the configuration limits. And it could be an issue seen before.
Best regards
Jürgen

Did that fatal eror only happen once or does it happen repeatedly. If repeatedly, what is the intervall or event that triggers it? For example does it happen always after restart of the controller?
