Saving a Smart Client Excel Interface workbook and opening again does not come back with saved data
Dear,
I have an issue with Smart Client Excel interface as below which was raised to Support Line before. The SL said that it can be solved in new revision on Smart Client.
Can Anyone help me to verify that information about new revision of Smart Client?

Problem: Saving a Smart Client Excel Interface workbook and opening again does not come back with saved data
1) Create a Smart Client Excel Interface and read in some data.
2) Save and close the workbook.
3) Open again.
4) When opening the workbook the Excel Interface will come back connected and go out and read new data destroying the old saved data.
(We tried to stop subscriptions but it did not stop unless changing IP to some illegal IP but then the whole Excel just hang.)
My system versions are:
Version 800xA: SV 6.0.1
Version Smart Client: Smart Client 2.2 rev C RU1 TC1
Version Windows: 2012 R2 on 800xA Information Manager and Smart Client Server Node

By design when a Report is configured in the Smart Client Excel Interface, when that Report is saved, it will write the Subscriptions to a Hidden worksheet so that when the Report is re-opened, it will execute those subscriptions as it had done previously. There is no option to prevent this from happening, otherwise the Report template could never be used again. One option would be to first save the Report, (when there is a point where you want the visible data to be saved), as a PDF file. This will preserve the data so that it can be viewed at a later date.
Attached you will find a procedure for building reports with the Smart Client Excel Interface. I hope that this provides you with the information you need.
Also please note, you should be utilizing the latest version of both Smart Client base software and the Smart Client Excel Interface as listed.
Smart Client Base = SC 2.2 RevC RU2b
Smart Client Excel Interface = SC 2.2 RevC RU2a
