I am looking for hardware solutions for upgrading our MB300 network hubs to switches.
I have the impression that the MB300 network can be difficult to work with managed switches. Any opinions on what switch hardware and vendors works best with the MB300. I would like to use an industrial switch at the location of the 450 controllers. I have used installed one 3 com unmanaged switch to replace a failed hub, so far no issues.
I have good experience with Hirschmann and ABB/Westermo switches. I recommend managed switches over unmanaged.
The new CS513A enable you to leave the old AUI interface and transceiver solutions behind you.
Attached Technical description give you some advise regarding MB300 upgrade.
The document is about to be updated and released with information about the new CS513A (MB300 with RJ-45 interface), as well as the CIX518V1 transceiver,
which now have changed name to CIX518V2.
We do propagate for the ABB branded Industrial switches, Made in Sweden, verified and approved for MB300.
NE801 & NE802 are small lightly managed, NE810 managed (DIN rail mounting) and commonly used today. Available are also the NE820 and NE840.
NE840 is for rack mounting.
