Communication of a HMI Panel 800 with Siemens PLC
Hello guys,
I would like to know if it's possible to have a communication between a HMI Panel 800 PP845 with a S7-400? Can I use PROFIBUS with the CB801? Or can this model of HMI communicate via Ethernet?
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
The very short answer is: Yes !
There are a lot of possibilities, it depends what do you have from S7-400 side.
The panel have an Ethernet port. Again - it depends what protocol do you need here (one of the possibility could be Modbus TCP, with AC800M it is used for ABB MMS protocol). CB801 is external Profibus DP interface (I personally don't have experience with it) - Profibus driver is available.
Some of the included Siemens S7 Drivers (they could be updated/added to Panel Builder from Internet):
nSIMATIC S7 3964R (Point to Point)
SIMATIC S7 ISO over TCP/IP (Master)
nSIMATIC S7 MPI Port (Token Slave)
nSIMATIC S7 MPI Direct (Token)
nSIMATIC S7 PPI (Master)
nSIMATIC S7 Profibus DP (Slave)
