800xA Syst Harmony Connect version 5.0 Sp2 Rev C / Infi 90 with some red BRC 300 Controllers / Drift time/Time Adj
Customer has installed a system since 9 years ago , the system is showing a drift time , the time is behind around one hour when we compare to the current time of the country.
We have suggested to the customer to buy a GPS to fix this problem but so far they have not bought the GPS.
For the time being we are thinking to fix this issue , we are thinking to do a temporary fix for doing that
we have verified from harmony server / control connection aspect and the loop time is the same that the 800xA time.
we verified only on harmony server nodes the loop time .
Nowaday The domain controller fetch the time from both connect nodes ( ascs1 and ascs2 ) it means the time is handled by primary aspect/ connectivity server mainly.
According to it , we are thinking to do this procedure and it is important to us to know your opinion.
Some years ago we used PPB2.0 and we have used it from time adjustment .
800xA has the utility Set Harmony Time , this utility allows to us to adjust the time seamless , according to the the PPB procedure which it should be similar to 800xA, we could set the desviation 5 minutes ( max desviation allowed) , in this way we could do the procedure without affecting the system, according to the algorithm each hour fix 120 secs ( 2 minutes ) , for every minute algorithm fix 2 secs. For us because we are back one hour we could require repeat the procedures mentioned above 5 minutes desviation sometimes , it could take some hours ( around 30 hours) to try to advance the time until we can reach the real time , every year customer stops the plant to do some maintenance activities and we can take advantage of that to do that.
The procedure could be done from ASCS1( connectivity server/ aspect server) which it broadcasts the time to all 800xA nodes
Customer has BRC300 redundant controllers , the question is , Could we do that , or beside of doing that do we need to do any special activity regarding to BRC300 Controller?
