Profibus connection for Redundant CI854 communication with Siemens DP-DP coupler.
Hi All,
I am using Siemens DP-DP coupler for data transfer between our ABB AC800M controller and Siemens S7 PLC on the other side.
On ABB side, we have got redundant PM866 controllers with CI854 connected on each. As I am doing the procedure for the first time, can anyone help me with the Profibus connection between DP-DP and Ci854 cards? Also, I would need the details of termination on each Profibus connectors.
I am attaching a config diagram of our controller, CI854 cards and DP-DP.

Thanks in advance

If your using Profibus RLM then you get the option of profibus line redundancy or else if ur having redundant DP-DP coupler then you can have line and module redundant.
If there is no profibus connection after dp-dp module then keep end terminator off
If there is no profibus connection after dp-dp module then keep end terminator off
First plug into first CI854, then plug to the second CI854, then to the dpdp coupler. First and dpdp coupler termination position is on. Thats it!
Hi,
My advise is to setup in ControlBuilder the first CI854 at position 1 (as in your picture) and the redundant CI854 at position 7, in order to have CI854's redundancy. Physically, install the modules as in your picture.
Each CI854 has two Profibus ports A and B. That is for line redundancy - e.g. if you use redundant IO segment with CI840 or you have only one CI854 connected to one DP-DP coupler. A and B ports in one CI854 are equal and the module "scan" where there is an "active" line connected and activate the corresponding port.
In case you have redundant CI854 (two modules as described above) and one DP-DP coupler, I can recommend to connect first port of DP-DP coupler to line A of the CI854 at pos. 1 and the second port of the coupler to line A of the CI854 at pos. 7.
Finally, as I know CI868 doesn't support redundant configuration (HW module redundancy).
