3rd party OPCDA service showing always undefined in ABB 800xA 184.108.40.206.
i am not able to communicate OPCDA service between ABB 800xA 6.0.3 and 3rd party OPC system using DCOM configuration. i done dcom and able to read 3rd party opc system data using advdsopcclient. But it always showing undefined. how to solve?
System Details: ABB system - 800xA 220.127.116.11 with windows server 2016 standard 3rd party system - windows 10 pro
How is the setup, is the 3:party opc server on the same machine as the ABB connectivity? If not, the dcom need to be same on both servers. You can also use a tunneller software to access remote server to get through fw and avoid dcom issues. Check also the account setting on your remote opc server.
Undefined may indicate that the service is disabled on group or top level. Ensure the enabled checkboxes are ticked on the service provider, upstream group and top service object.
If you have created the service provider manually you may have forgotten to define which (server) node that should run the service provider.
Remember that the 800xA OPC DA Connector service runs in the background under the 800xA service account. Testing the OPC connection with a desktop client and a regular user account is not covering all items that need to be in order for a successful connection in the background, eg. the OPC server must not display any GUI.
The advdsopcconnector.exe must be set to allow asynchronous DCOM callbacks from the remote server. A tunneler may resolve those DCOM issues for you.
