What is the difference between CI869 and CI856
First I would like to know if both of the Communication Interface (CI869 and CI856) communicate in AF100, if they do what's the difference? One of them is the master and the other one is slave?
Like CI801 and CI854?
Thanks in advance,
Rafaela

CI869: its a communication Interface for AF100 Fieldbus. AF100 Fieldbus is an bus used in Advant Controllers to communicate to S800, AC70, AC80, AC110, AC160. IN AC800M the AF100 is mainly used to communicate the the AC70,80,110 and 110 Controllers via DSP (DataSetPeripherals)
CI856: is a communication interface to connect S100 IOs (10" Rack IOs) to AC800M. S100 IOs were/are used in MP200, MP200/1 and AC400 Controllers
S100 I/O:
Network: S100 I/O bus
Purpose: Peer-to-peer communication between AC 800M and S100
Protocol: S100 I/O
SW interface: Data Set variables
HW Interface: CI856
Hot swap: Yes
Line redundancy: No
Module redundancy: No
AF100 Fieldbus:
Network: AF100 Fieldbus
Purpose: Peer-to-peer communication between AC 800M and Advant controllers
Protocol: Full Data Set communication support
SW interface: Data Set variables
HW Interface: CI869
Line redundancy: Yes
Master redundancy: Yes
You can use http://www.800xahardwareselector.com/ website for differences and similarities of Modules, IO Cards and CPUs.
Hope it helps you.
Hello Rafaela,
In addition to previous answers.
CI856 is the AC800M I/O interface board for using old Advant Master S100 I/O together with AC800M
CI869 is for AF100 peer to peer communication with already mentioned products or previous reply, such as AC110, AC160, AC410, AC450 etc.
What is not yet mentioned here is that CI869 can only be a slave on AF100, ( not having the bus master role) meaning that you need to have an
AC110, AC160, AC410 or AC450 or a CI626, CI627 Ac100 OPC, (HMI interface board) on the bus acting as bus Master.
2 CI869 cannot communicate with each other on AF100 without any of the above mentioned possible bus masters.
