How to replace AC800F with AC900F
what is procedure

Make sure the current Freelance version supports AC 900F. If not, plan for an upgrade. AC 900F is supported from Freelance 2013 on, but I recommend to upgrade to Freelance 2016SP1 either way.
Export your current project to create an up-to-date CSV file. Make a backup of this CSV file and your current PRO file!
If your current Freelance version is only one main version below Freelance 2016, then you can simply import the CSV file into the Freelance Engineering of Freelance 2016SP1. If the version difference is bigger (like if you have a version <= 9.2, we recommend to contact ABB service to upgrade the file for you. Reason is, that each new version tests only upgrading from the previous main version. So if you are on 7.1 and want to be on the safe side, you would need to import into 8.2 first, then export and import into 9.2, ... and so on. If you do not have all those versions, the ABB service can do it for you.
Once your project is on Freelance 2016SP1, add a new controller of AC 900F type in the hardware structure. The corresponding module for FI 830F in AC 900F is the CI 930F. Configure the PROFIBUS master in the CI 930F and move all the slaves from below the FI 830F to the Profibus master in the CI 930F.
When finished, deactivate the FI 830F in the hardware structure and activate the AC 900F. Do a plausibility check of the whole system and remove any error.
All the above can be done offline.
Now insert the physical AC 900F into the network, load the firmware to it using the Settings program and then do the commissioning with Freelance Engineering. At this time also upgrade the Freelance Operator stations to the Freelance 2016SP1.
