Change from using water pressure set point to using scalar 0-10V
Good day sir,
I have a situation where an existing installation (1 x ACS580 that runs one pump with three center pivots) is currently using 4-20mA signal from a pressure transducer at the pump manifold. I now have a device that receives the pressure signals from the far ends of the pivots and we need to use these pressures to manipulate the VSD. My device receives and processes the different pressure readings and decides at what % the VSD needs to run at to maintain correct pressures.
So now I have 0-10V signal coming from my device and determines the speed of the VSD - 0V = 0% and 10V = 100%. I have done exactly this with a ACS550 not long ago, with the help of @Flavio, and the system works great. But now with the ACS580 the parameters are very different and I spent all day in the manual trying different options to get this to work, but I have had no success yet.
Settings that I have changed:
19.11 - Tried EXT1 and EXT2
30.13 - changed to 0
22.18 - changed to AI1 (this is my 0-10V signal)
Currently DI6 works by 1) Start / Stop and 2) Constant setpoint, which I assume is the pressure setpoint that the old configuration was aiming for. If I disable this setpoint, I don't know what the correct option would be to use the 0-10V signal on AI1 as an external speed reference.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Hein

Hello Hein
ACS580 is similar to the previous ACS550. One most important difference is the assistant panel, that give you more possibilities to configure in lower time the desired function.
Returning to you question, if you will reset the drive - because maybe too many changes to the program that may have confused you - you can reset to the factory origin the drive with parameter 96.06. Make sure to made before one backup on the panel!
This operation allow you to restart the configuration, do not forget that 0-10 V is one of the most common starting operation.
Do you also want to reuse the 4-20 mA command you previously had?
In this case, set from parameter 96.05 the macro MAN/AUT and follow the instruction at the manual.
As I have promise you, if you have a bit patience, I can send one PDF with the complete configuration.
Have a nice day
