Upgrade AC800C (controller PM210) to 5.x with new controller
My company has a project where we are upgrading a plant from ABB CBM 3.1 to to 5.x. This will include upgrading the controller and code, in at least two steps.
They use PM210 controller and S200 IO with associated libraries.
I don't seam to be able to download the CBM 3.1 or 3.2 from ABB. Surly we don't have to buy the old program? We obviously have to buy and license the 5.x version as normal.
If anyone has done something similar or have some information it would be much appreciated.
Thank you for your time

The PM210 controller hardware is no longer supported, but the S200 I/O modules can still be used by connecting via a CI865.
No - you don't need a copy of Control Builder version 3. But you **DO** need a copy of the Source Code. Follow the upgrade procedure and Upgrade the Control Builder code in the version 5.x control builder. Copy the cold retain files over to the new system. Change the hardware types and connect the application to the new hardware, load to simulated hardware running in a soft controller and test.
The Original Source code files are XML. In the worst case and things like IO variable connections to the hardware don't convert properly, you can still retrieve the data you need by reading the XML files manually.
