Replace redundant AC800F Controller with different HW & FW
We have Freelance 2000 with Control Builder F Pro V7.1.2264 with redundant AC800F Controller DFC 02 Rev B (HW: 01.06, FW:06.25).
We have new replacement AC800F Controller DFC02 Rev B (HW: 01.09, FW:07.24) because the redundant one is not working.
The old hole controller include: Power Supply Module SD802F, Ethernet Module EI803, Redundant Ethernet Module EI803, FieldBus Module DPV1 FI830F, Serial Module FI820F
The IP Address in the Ethernet Module EI803 coding switch is set on (0) which is configured 172.16.1.13 in the Software Network.
Please could you tell me if I can use the new replacement redundant which is different HW & FW because we try to install it but no way to communcte with it.
Any Procedure to follow to set the mentionted new redundant chass rack because I read in ABB doc where they said identique Chass Rack only.
Any addition details, let me know.
Waiting to hear from you soon, best regards.

Hello,
you first need to download the firmware that comes with 7.1 to the new controller. If the firmware is not the same the two CPUs will not communicate. Use the Configure Tool that comes with the V7.1 to do a booteprom download followed by a firmware download (I believe in that version they were still separate commands in the Configure Tool)
Please note that V7.1 was not released for the HW you got. Only V7.1SP2a lists HW index 1.09 as compatible. So it is a risk that you take. In order to use the Configure Tool you need to connect the controller (best with all modules plugged in) to the CBF PC. The configure tool expects the IP address of the Controller for download. Best use a network not connected to your system or disconnect the Engineering PC from your control system and directly connect it to the new DFC (via a switch not connected to your control system).
Afterwards place the updated controller into your control system and connect it to the primary via the Etherbnet module in E2 and connect all the other cables too. After completing the cabeliing switch on the secondary controller and it will load the application from the primary.
