What is reason for fault "No communication 3" in ACS800? Is this fault able to trip the drive?
Here the drive is a ACS800 inverter module and is a follower.
It is communicating on optical communication connected to AC800M plc.
Now in normal running condition of plant drive trip and when checked it showing No Communication 3, the same thing happen for three time in one day.
Each time it trip and display show No Communication 3.
Pls suggest from where I can get complete details on this fault .
Also i have paste a image from acs800 manual.

Hi
the fault that you have described is not so easy to solve.
In my experience, with ACS800, this is depending on a malfunction of interface between panel adaptor and the dedicate section for the panel communication of the mother board of the drive.
In other cases it was bad contacts or dust on the panel connector, but I am convinced that you have already checked that there are no bad contacts.
A possible change to the program that you can try to do very carefully, in order not to have continuous stops, is to set the parameter 30.02 on "last speed" but you have to evaluate, being a follower, that this is not a problem with your process .
Ultimately, you can evaluate the choice of having the drive serviced / repaired by the ABB service in your area.
ABB service technicians are real professionals, very prepared, able to help you
Hope this help you

Hi,
Could you provide more information about your application and configuration of the drive(s).
Check the parameters 30.18 and 30.19.
Is that a master/follower mode of the drive? If that is the case, follow the instructions in the manual:

Is that a master/follower mode of the drive? If that is the case, follow the instructions in the manual:
The Follower should always be controlled by the Master while the motors are coupled to each other. Do not change the control location if this activates a control signal source other than Master
- Do not change the External control location if Parameter 10.01, 10.02, 11.03 or 11.06 is set to a value other than COMM.CW or COMM.REF
- Do not switch to local control
