How to fetch the data from AC500 PLC's PM5xx-eth to a centralized CHMI 6
ear Sir,
I have to fetch the data from AC500 PLC's PM5xx-eth to a centralized CHMI 6 system, existing computers are identical and having CHMI 6 & Automation Builder 1.2 and on the same network.
There are total 5-6 CHMI 6 & Automation Builder 1.2 system computers with dedicated controllers PM5xx-eth, and I have to fetch the selected data from their controllers, just to display on my centralized CHMI 6 computer without doing any modification in existing system. However all computers are on the same network and dedicated IP address.
Can we use OPC DA only as a reliable solution?
How i can do this thing?
Thanks in advance.

Hello nitinpulastya,
Use OPC DA server supplied with Automation Builder. You can install it from AB installer as "additional software". A single OPC server can connect to tens of PLC (I don't remember if it was 20 or 30 max.), but this number will vary vastly depending on data throughput (number of signals read/written). To use OPC you must generate a symbol file from your PLCs, but that should not change the existing functions of system. Of course importing the data to CHMI will require defining controller using PLC Connect, but as I understand this is not a problem.
Hope this helps,
Mike

Does OPC DA will require any additional setting in any computer, like DCOM?
