3D Macros not loading
Hello,
I recently downloaded the Freelance 3D macros posted on this forum, thanks for the App.
However im currently having issues with loading them. Im new to Freelance and am learning it. lm using the DEMO version 10.3.9142 of SP1.
Under the Software Node, l created an operator station (D-OS) and on the next level a graphic display (FGR)
By double clicking on the FGR, i accessed the 'Macros' menu, then 'Library functions' then 'load'
I was then able to access the "3D_Macros_revD.bol" file
However when l press OPEN, nothing happens, nothing loads, it remains empty.
Would someone please assist, im not sure where im going wrong. I did a plausibilty check also. I attached 2 screenshots.
Thank you.

Hello,
check the size of the .bol file in your file system. It should be different from 0. Mine is about 3.8 MB.
Also try to open the file with notepad. Do you get an access error? Sometimes downloaded files get secured against usage from windows for security reasons.
Once opened it should look like this:

One other possibility is, that the makro file you loaded has a non compatible version to the Freelance 2016SP1 you are using.
How come you had to download the macro library from AKS either way? If you installed the Demo version, it should be available under
C:\Program Files (x86)\ABB\Freelance\macros (I use UAC disabled).

l have attached the .bol file . There is no event under Systems/Application Windows logs that has been logged during the the time of the .bol upload.
I can load your macro file just fine in my Freelance 2016SP1 RU02 installation, but I have UAC not enabled.
Before looking into that, could you zip your project and attach it also to some post? I want to try to load the macros into your project with my installation. If it works, I can return your project with the macros and you can try to use them.
Or then you could un-install Freelance, disable UAC and install Freelance again and see if your problem persists or disappears. But before we do that I recommend I try to load the macros into your project.

The file 500Mb file, is the original zipped file downloaded. I have attached the .CSV file, im not sure if its what you looking for.
By the way, How do i attach files here when replying to you, without answering my own question? I can only find the "Attach files" symbol only when answering a question or asking a question for the first time.
Thank you.

I can load the macro library into your project quite fine. I attach the csv file now including the macro library loaded, so you can start using the macros in your project. To do that you need to import my CSV file into a new project.
So it is not something in the project that prevents you from loading.
Has to be something in your installation or computer settings.
When you installed the Demo version, did it also create a user for you?
If yes, do you login as this user when running the Engineering software?
If yes, login as admin and run the Engineering Software. Can you load the Library now?
If no, login as this user and run the Engineering Software. Can you load the Library now?

Well, then the only remaining thing to check is UAC. If you are willing try the following
a) Uninstall Freelance 2016 from your computer, by running the Freelance setup and choosing Uninstall. Do not use the Windows Programs & Features dialog as it may leave parts of the installation intact.
b) Reboot
c) Turn UAC off
f) Open the project and try to load the library
I can understand if that is too much effort, now that you can use the macros. I leave it up to you.

Here's how to turn User Account Control (UAC) on or off in Windows 10:
- Type UAC in the search field on your taskbar. (If the search field isn't visible, right-click the Start button and choose Search.)
- Click Change User Account Control settings in the search results.
- Then do one of the following:
- To turn UAC off, drag the slider down to Never notify and click OK.
- To turn UAC on, drag the slider up to the desired level of security and click OK.
- You may be prompted to confirm your selection or enter an administrator password.
- Reboot your computer for the change to take effect.
f) Open the project and try to load the library
