Smart Client Server Connection Problem
Answers
Based on your initial description, you state that you are running SC 2.2 Rev C RU1a. This version has inherent issues that have been corrected in the latest version, SC 2.2 Rev C RU2b. It is strongly suggested that you install this latest version.
Additionally, it is noted that you appear to have both the Smart Client Server and 800xA Data Provider software installed in the same node, which is certainly an option. However, it may be appropriate to know the network configuration before making general statements about your configuration. As mentioned in a previous comment, you need to ensure that the Firewall settings have the necessary Ports opened as detailed in the Smart Client installation manual, assuming that you have the Firewalls on the PC turned on. Another question would be, are you attempting to open the SC Client on the SC Server node shown?
Finally, there are a number of log files that record information about each of the nodes that contain either SC Server software of SC Data Provider software, (in your case it is believed to be the same node). These are located in the same directory on each node, "C:\Abblogs". Examining this may provide additional insight, along with examining the log files in the MS Event Viewer.
