We have customer with ABB SIS System that want to integrate with other PCS system different brand (AB Rockwell), we already configure and trial
the opc communication between ABB system and Rockwell system, we have problem "sometimes server in ABB or rockwell freeze, data not
update on Rockwell Scada", update data sometimes take too long and scada hmi is freeze. So we want to try other options, using controller to
controller communication and we choosing modbus tcpip as protocol. So from ABB SIS will add one dedicated controller for modbus communication to
maintain existing load controller. So my question :
1. Can we transfer variable/data from SIL3 application to non sil application between different controller? which controller should we use? Standard or HI integrity controller?
2. Can inhibit SIL application came from modbus communication variable from other controller? We have tried using OPC, it success for inhibit SIL
From the newly added Standard controller , you shall transfer data through Modbus TCP/IP or any standard communication protocol to any third party SCADA/HMI/PLC.
If you want send data back to SIL3 Application, then compiler switch settings need to be configured like below
