ACS800
Hi sir,
After a long time.\
I am using a ACS800 VFD with a braking resistor in Tertiary crusher application.
vfd detail:
ACS800-04-0440-3+D150+J400
Parameter:
27.01 (BRAKE CHOPPER CTL) = ON
27.02 (BR OVERLOAD FUNC) = FAULT
27.03 (BR RESISTANCE) = 0.85 OHM
27.04 (BR THERM TCONST) = 400 SEC.
27.05 (MAX CONT BR POWER) = 42 KW
27.06 (BC CTRL MODE) = AS GENERATOR
22.02 (ACCEL TIME) = 30 SEC.
22.03 (DECEL TIME) = 30 SEC.
22.07 (EM STOP RAMP TIME) = 30 SEC.
20.05 (OVERVOLTAGE CTRL) = ON
21.01 (START FUNCTION) = AUTO
21.03 (STOP FUNCTION) = RAMP
BRAKING RESISTOR DETAILS:
Resistance value = 0.85 OHM
Watts = 42 KW
Energy = 16800 KJ
MOTOR DETAILS:
KW = 250
A = 403
RPM = 1488
HZ = 50
V = 415
For this braking resistor is that parameter setting correct? if not then please give me some advise that in which parameter i have to change the value.
Sir i will wait for your response.

Hi BR
IMHO your settings are correct, but all is depending on the brake cycle that you need in your application.
In other words, much of the good functioning of your system depends on the braking cycles that your system will have to do.
For example, if you want to brake a very important load - then you need to know the inertia of the system, the number of revolutions etc. - the resistance from 42 kW may also not be sufficient, if the braking time is very short.
I hope I was helpful
