Basic History Service Status Object
HI
Since I booted the Connectivity Server, I had Problem to get ServiceState with the ServiceProvider from Basic History. So i tried to remove and reinsert the Service Provider. But there is no Service Status Object anymore and the state of the Service Provider is after a few hours only "Undefined". How can i get back the "Provider Metrics"

Hi,
IMHO, removing Service provider usually not a part of initial attempt of troubleshooting.
if you have structure Backup of your Services structure, you can restore the Service provider and also "Provider Metrics".
Thanks

As per your problem statement, I understand that the Basic History service was working fine unit Connectivity Server/(s) was/were restarted.
Is time synchronization configured and working correctly?
Which 800xA system version are you using?
What is the CPU load for the connectivity servers?
How many Basic History logs have you configured?
I believe you have too many logs configured for Basic History service. This might be the reason BH service is not picking up to service.
Request you to refer 800xA System Guide (3BSE041434*) for getting an idea on the maximum logs that can be configured on connectivity servers.
Awaiting your response...

You cant just "Delete and Create" the objects. You need to remove and add the service providers from the Service Group configuration aspect. This will create the correct type of Service Provider Definition, including the Provider Metric child object.
Be extremely careful when you delete things from the service structure. If you just right Click and "delete" an object, there are many cases where the object cannot be re-created and you can break things permanently. ALLWAYS use either the Service Group definition aspects , or create the service definitions for OPC DA and OPC AE groups from the control structure.
For Basic History issues, deleting service providers is rarely a good idea. If you really believe the History Data files are corrupted and preventing the service from initializing and synchronizing, then TAKE A BACKUP of the history files, then disable the service and delete the history data files. Do not delete the service. When the history service is re-initialized, it will create and synchronize history data files again. This may take several hours. As long as the percent synchronized continues to increase, then everything is OK.

This is my reply for your comment:
"Version. 6.0.3.1
CPU arround 10%
Arround 23000. (--> 200GB)
I coudn't find limitations in 3BSE041434

-> Did you check the Time Synchronization? Please refer attached network configuration manual. Refer section 7 for time sync.
-> CPU load looks fine.
-> Do you mean you are using 23,000 logs for Basic History service?
How many connectivity servers do you have?
What is the minimum update rate for the logs?
I have attached 3BSE041434 manual for your reference. Refer page 191, Table 7.2. It says maximum number of history logs in a connectivity server should be 10,000.
Hope this helps.

I agree with Rob's previous answer - manual addition is not that delicate as long as you play by the rules. For example, SV6 does not open firewall if made manually - also manually added services may cause issues with the System Installer in v6 - it does not anticipate any manual editing of services...
I see that you have set node when recreating the provider, but the provider is not executing (State=Undefined).
- Is the upstream group and service enabled?
- Is the hosts file not pointing out your node correctly? RNRP not working?
- Is the node where the provider is to be running online and having the ABB ServiceManager service running?
As soon as a Basic History provider startup, it will recreate a missing provider metrics object...
