mod300 AC460 to AC800 migration
Hello,
are there any documents regarding migration of
mod300 ac460 applications towards ac800
hardware. What about the mod300 ccf library for ac800?
Is it convenient? I saw for example that s100 interface for ac800 will not support redundant communications.
This is a very strange choice because customer need to migrate to different hardware that makes the evolution definetely not convenient..
thanks for your support

Paul

Hi , to do the migration from AC460 to AC 800M you have two options:
1 - To use Mod 300 CCFLIb which ABB has developed most of the FCM existing in Advabuild for windows to Function Block Mod 300 CCFLib , also there is Mod 300 Conversion Tool which you can convert the CCF configuration from Advabuild node to Function Blocks designed into Mod 300 CCFLib for AC800M. Also there is a conversion tool for TCL program , but you can do the programs again for example in Structured text , for this option you should contact to ABB to use the conversion tool which it has been developed in function designer . There are some activities which they should be done manually. The graphics could be done again taking advantage of PG2. Nevertheless graphics could be converted , but it could be better idea to do again taking advantage of the new technology( grahic element , specific models etc)
2 - The second option is developing all the configuration manually again into AC800M , but yo could spend more time and money , but you should inform to the customer about that to take more convenient decision.
3 - AC460 and its hardware is really good system ,and its lifetime is active , it may be you would have to migrate to S800IO if it is possible and it depends how old the system is it could be an option
I hope it helps

Having been through three major upgrade projects from MOD300 to AC800M, I can say that this is REALLY good advice.
