800XA IMS - Version 6.0.3 Multiple account accessing the IMS Event search not working
One of our installation when one user is opening the IMS Event list from one operator workstation and doing a search for Tag, at the same time if another user logged in different operator client try to open the event list it is not at all opening.
Is there any limitation on the IMS event search when two users request at the same , or is it work for one user at a time? Do we need to do some setting change in IMS to overcome same ?
If you (here:The Event List) ask a query that takes a lot of work, the response time can be very long, and you will see exactly what you are seeing. Also the larger the Message Log, the longer the access time if a lot of records have to be searched to fill a page in the Event List. To limit how much sorting is done by the client and thus time taken before data is presented, always use time range filtering in the IM Event List - click on the Event Time column heading to set it up. This way Oracle will do the initial search in an efficient manner and limit how much data is read from the tables and supplied to the client to do the final sorting from.
You may also want to make the Event List page for IM Events shorter, say 100 events, instead of the default. This will also limit how much data needs to be retrieved and processed before anything is presented.
Just want to add another option (on top of my earlier comment): The IM Message Log can cope with any kind of input from OPC-AE and is therefore very complex in its structure (many Oracle tables etc), which slows things down. There is an option to ABBs Smart Client where events are stored in a greatly simplified way (but still in Oracle) which may be of interest if you really use this a lot. Contact your local ABB representative and ask to find out more about Smart Client.
