DDE Server: License Expansion of Freelance 9.1 (Win XP) to Freelance 2016 (Win 10 Enterprise).
Hello guys,
I'm updating a customer plant with Freelance 9.1 to Freelance 2016 version. with DDE Gateway running in a separate node.
Is there some OS Windows observation in this updating process?

Hello Robson
Microsoft has discontinued DDE from Win7 on. The replacement is OPC.
The OPC Gateway can run on the node that formerly had the DDE server.
You should get the OPC Server license for Freelance as part of the Maintain & Evolve agreement when you evolve to Freelance 2016.
The Freelance OPC manual has an example how to use OPC in Excel f. e.
By the way, if you had used DDE to create your own Excel report, have a look at the Excel Report feature in Freelance 2016.
