CI854 profibus communication
we have faced one problem that is one communication card(CI840) in node 1(primary ) and one more communication card (CI840) in node 2(secondary) got in to fault mode. we re powered it and got to normal running mode. PLC is reading all the DI's and AI's but if we give any command from scada PLC didn't responded . we have gone online whether any problem got in communication. We checked by forcing the DO's then also no response. Then we checked main communication card near the controller which is primary is also in healthy condition .we hot swapped communication card then PLC got communicated with Scada.
what could be the reason for main communication card @ controller got into Halt mode and why it did not go to secondary communication card after the fault occurred down the nodes.

Hi, Please share the CI log file along with the controller log file.
These is know issue of profibus I/O getting freeze for older version of 800XA.
Which version of 800XA you are using ?

Thing you checked DI and AI are not actual value because modules store previous value as per settings of module.
Please do this exercise,
Remove connection of controller which is in primary now. After removing it shifts to secondary communication card and check response. Bcause u have already interchanged communication card. If this worked, then communication card is not faulty. Check for panel cooling, sometimes if modules got hotter then this kind of communication issues happening.
