VMware Esxi 6.5
We are in the process of commissioning a 800xA 6.0 system and the customer wants to run the system in a virtualised environment. He is offering a system running VMWare Esxi 6.5.
According to the documentation 6.0.3 supports VMWare 6.0, have any tests been done to see if 6.5 will work? My development environment runs under 6.5 and I've seen no issues but that is not the same as guaranteeing to the customer that there will be no problems.
Has there been any testing on ESXi 6.5 and were any issues encountered?
Many thanks

Hi
We also have a test system running 800xA 6.0.x on ESXi 6.5 on Dell R730. Earlier we had issues of All VMs getting disconnected from the datastore momentarily whenever any VM was restarted or shutdown OR new VM created.
But when we updated the R730 Hardware Drivers & Firmwares to the latest, we did not observed any issues.
But officially supported is ESXi 6.0 u3e.
Best Regards

ESXi 6.5 is not yet certified for 800xA.
That does not mean it will not work, only that no formal tests have been conducted by ABB and that there is no formal support.
As others have mentioned, LSI based storage have known issues (drivers need to be updated to prevent datastore from disconnecting when starting and stopping virtual machines, the likelihood of disconnect increases with the number of machines involved)

There are performance problems with esxi 6.5 and 800xA which are under investigation. So I wouldn’t use it.
