How to make Infi90 BRC controller accept the time of the Harmony Connectivity Server? 800xA time sync with BRC410
I have BRC 410 controllers in an Infi 90 loop (without a GPS clock node in the loop) connected to an 800xA 6.0 system via a Harmony Connectivity server. After any controller download it takes the default year/month/day of 1984-Jan-1. How do I synchronize the controller time with the Harmony Connectivity Server?

A few things need to be checked and setup. Ensure (if you are on a Domain) that all your server nodes are setup correctly with timesync as per 800xA instructions. Follow the Post Install manuals for Harmony connect to ensure the 800xA CS's are properly configured for Harmony Timesync. Once this is done ensure you have Status Tags (N90 Status) for all active nodes, eg PCU's (primary and redundant), ICI's and CIU's, Gateway's and all your controllers (primary only). Status Tags are used to propagate Timesync on the Infinet loop.
This should solve your problems. Please note: if there are 3rd party software connected to the same loop (eg Historians) they can also drive the loop time in-advertantly and these will have to be dealt with separately (it takes too long to explain here).
PS to determine Timesync on 800xA for Harmony:
Use the Server Diagnostic to determine the Infi90 Time Sync Master by using the following procedure:

Use the Server Diagnostic to determine the Infi90 Time Sync Master by using the following procedure:
Start the Web base Server Explorer
Right click on the Harmony-Server for the node and select the Server Diagnostics
From the General tab scroll down to the Atoms named TS/MSTR_LOOP_ACC, TS/MSTR_LOOP, and TS/MSTR_NODE. These atoms will show the current loop, node number, and accuracy of the Infi90 Time Sync master.

Hi,
Does the date / time eventually resynchronise to the system date / time or does it stay in 1984?
Are you doing offline downloads?
Are the controllers on the same Infinet loop as the connectivity servers. Time sync has to be enabled in the bridge to pass between loops.
Have a look at 3BUA000157-6?? (Harmony Configuration) and go through section 10 and make sure your connectivity server time service and time synchronisation are set up correctly.

Alan

It is mostly due to improper accuracy setting.
There is a bulletin published for harmony with S+ operations vs PPB as how to configure. Similar thing u need to follow for your case as well. -2VAA008314 download from ABB library. Connect to IET and check it out using Time sync message monitor.

Hi again,
Take a look at section 3 of 3BUA000157-6?? as well.
