800XA Objects in Graphics are Red marked with Cross Sign and All of Faceplates are Disabled
Hi Mr Stefan,
I had loaded the same question to the portal, but later after seeing your expertise and best answers to customers, I decided to directly asking the same question to you..
So would you please be so kind and tell me how to solve the issue I have explaned below?
We have 800xA v5.0 installed on our redundant Aspect Servers which are connected to 3 redundant Connectivity server pairs together with Config Server. We also have Domain Controllers, Compser Server, IMAP and Information Management Servers. Our configuraton is made up of 800xA with redundant melody cubicles running on AC 870p (PM875p-2) controllers and S800 Remote I/O.
Several days ago We have seen that all graphics in operator stations regarding to our 2 units went to red and all of them were crossed with X mark. No operation was available when a faceplate was called up. All buttons were disabled, no live data from field was available etc.We have 6 units in our plant but only to of them are in this situtation. Each two of our units are allocated to a redundant pair of connectivity servers.
Here is a summary of what we tried and found as results:
-No error signal was flashing on any unit's redundant controllers. Processing is possible from Local Process Panels directly connected to Controllers via Profibus interface. Controllers are able to run the logic diagram changes, we can create and load new tags and we know they are running by means of I/O changes. But these new tags are not visible in 800XA system as is expected to happen in normal times.
-Server status for all server nodes are green marked and seem to be running. All services on these servers also seem to be running, there is no service that has been stopped.
-Config server's tag importer is running. We checked SQL Database and found that it is shared via network. The replication statuses are equal with the version in Connectivity Servers.
- We restarted Connectvity servers and Aspect Servers in the sequence order given in the document handed over by System supplier which is ABB itself. So both connectivity and aspect server pairs have been restarted and returned to ther normal statuses without any failure. Server status page shows them to be in OK status.
-Interestingly if we simulate a signal from field belonging to the same Area or Unit, it is shown in alarm band and can be acknowledged and updated when we remove the simulation. So it seems we loose control and data connection between controllers and 800XA but Alarm connections are working?
-We have commissioned all tags from their planning versions to the relevant controllers of these two units. Controller side again has started to work but still there is no change in 800xA. We see that the same services are running on these connectivity pair (CS0021 & CS0022) just like other connectivity pairs (CS0011&CS0012, CS0031&CS0032) which are still running.
It is really frustrating that everything seems to be ok but still we have the problem.
So any help will be very welcomed,
Thanks in advance for your kind consideration.

With the information made available I recommend that focus should be put on the Melody OPC DA servers.
Eg try probing them with a 3rd party OPC DA client or the built-in advdsopcclient.exe. Are you able to subscribe for data when directly connected via a third party client?
OPC AE may be delivered via a different Melody service; it could explain why process alarms were working while process values did not.
A support case should be filed with the regional ABB service unit. They can escalate and ask for assistance, eg from experts in Melody Connect and/or 800xA Core
